New Conquer Words List

Dear Year 4 Parents,

Today we started a new process to assist the students further in learning to spell the words they misspell in their writing or mispronounce in their reading (Conquer Words). Ask your child to show you their current list.

The Process
  • Each student has an individual Google Doc with an ongoing and continually changing list of conquer words.
  • This document has been bookmarked on their MacBook.
  • Students practise spelling the words at home and school.
  • Words are assessed at school on a regular basis.
  • The web address of the Google doc is only known to individual students.

Who can add to the list?
  • Students
  • Teachers who have access (including myself and Sonia Caielli)
  • Parents – when reading or writing at home with your child, ask them to add a misspelt or interesting word to their Conquer List.

Why the change?
  • Parents can keep up to date with their child’s Conquer Words.
  • The shared list allows us to type in words directly into the student’s conquer words when we are marking their work.
  • Students have a place to type their words from school or home, without the need of their spelling books.

Parents please keep on track of these words on a regular basis and do some informal and fun practise of these words with your child at home.
Please let me know if you have any concerns or thoughts.

Best Regards
Adrian

Music Count Us In...Song Lyrics

www.musiccountusin.org.au
KEEP ON
A. Rolfe, R. Lim, H. Winter, A. Slattery, K. Noonan, J. Foreman

Oh oh oh, oh oh oh, oh oh oh.
V1 I could be a rock star, soaring super high, aiming for the sky I could be a doctor, I could fly a plane
I’ve got a million dreams inside my brain I could be a farmer, I could do ballet,
I could paint the colours of every day

Pre-chorus It starts right now, it starts right Here’s a chance to show the world
Chorus Whatever you wanna be, you can be Whatever you wanna see, you can see
You can be anything you want to be, So keep on, keep on, keep on
Oh oh oh, oh oh oh, oh oh oh.
Keep on, keep on

Oh oh oh, oh oh oh, oh oh oh.
V2 I can see a future, a story that is mine I’m writing every line
So when we come together, standing side by side Pieces of the puzzle in this crazy thing called life
Pre-chorus It starts right now, it starts right Here’s a chance to change the world
Chorus Whatever you wanna be, you can be Whatever you wanna see, you can see
You can be anything you want to be, So keep on, keep on, keep on
Bridge Build a bridge, fly a plane Make somebody smile again
Play guitar, be a star Doesn’t matter who you are Build a bridge, fly a plane Make somebody smile again Play guitar, be a star

Keep on, keep on
Whatever you wanna be, you can be Whatever you wanna see, you can see We can be anything we want to be, So keep on, keep on, keep on
Oh oh oh, oh oh oh, oh oh oh. Keep on, keep on
Oh oh oh, oh oh oh, oh oh oh. Keep on, keep on

Music Count Us In - Song Lyrics

Paint You a Song
H. Angus, E. Claxton, J. Foreman, A. Gill, K. Girao, W. Kennedy, N. Wendt
Do do do do doo, Do do do do doo Do do do do doo, Do do do do doo
I see the birds flying high, flying high, flying high in the sky
They’re all singing along, to that same old song
I feel the beat, feel the beat, feel the beat, feel the beat in my heart And it keeps me warm, like a spark in the dark

You paint the melody
I will paint the harmony Singing colours all around Every city, every town

Let me paint you a song if you promise, promise
Let me paint you a song if you promise, promise
Let me paint you a song if you promise to sing along

Do do do do doo, Do do do do doo Do do do do doo, Do do do do doo
I hear the wind rushing in, rushing in, rushing into the night
Touch the stars, chase the light
And there’s a song, there’s a song, there’s a song, there’s a song in the air If you listen close, you can hear it there

You paint the melody
I will paint the harmony Singing colours all around Every city, every town

Let me paint you a song if you promise, promise
Let me paint you a song if you promise, promise
Let me paint you a song if you promise to sing along

Piano break
Music forever, Brings us together Music forever, Brings us together Music forever, Brings us together Music forever, Brings us together
Let me paint you a song if you promise, promise
Let me paint you a song if you promise, promise
Let me paint you a song if you promise to sing along
